Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) Certified Within Agency Trainer and Therapist, PCIT International
ABOUT THE PRACTICE
Evidence-based treatment. Judgement-free practice. Individualized support.
Are you concerned about your child's behaviors or how he/she manages emotions?
Is your child frequently having emotional outbursts that seem excessive for his/her age?
Does your child fail to follow simple adult requests the first time?
Do you feel like you've tried everything to support your child and manage challenging behaviors but nothing is working?
Are these difficulties negatively impacting your child's or your family's lives (e.g., avoid taking your child into public, have problems finding caregivers to watch your child, daycare/school behavior problems, tense family relationships, etc.)?
If you could relate to any of these statements, then I may be able to help!
I help young children (ages 2-6) and their families to address common emotional and behavioral concerns. My approach to therapy is evidence-based, supportive, and collaborative.
I primarily use Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), an evidence-based therapy for children ages 2 to 6 and their families. PCIT is one of the most effective treatments for young children who exhibit challenging or disruptive behaviors. For more about PCIT and whether it's right for your family, click here.
Below are some of the common diagnoses or conditions that I treat in young children:
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Disruptive behavior problems (not listening, defiance, tantrums, etc.)
Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD)
Adjustment to changes/stressors
School behavior problems
Anxiety
Difficulty managing emotions (emotion regulation)
Parent-child relationship problems
